FERRIS, Robert Adrian

February 21, 1925 – Neepawa, Manitoba
March 24, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Robert Ferris, of Calgary, after a short illness at the Rockyview Hospital passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the age of 93 years.

Bob worked and lived in Neepawa, Manitoba before moving to Calgary to be closer to family. He and Reta enjoyed wintering in Mesa Arizona and Mexico. Bob enjoyed his computer, sending and receiving emails, or writing poems for every occasion. However, Music was his passion. He was an accomplished Mandolin player, strumming along to Lawrence Welk on Saturday night T.V. He also taught himself to play the keyboard which he also played by ear. When he wasn’t playing or listening to music, he’d be dancing up a storm with any lady who wanted a whirl around the floor.

He will be sorely missed by his loving daughter and son-in-law Penny and Bob Stone; grandchildren, Bree Phillips, Cara and Darren Milne, and Curtis Stone; great-grandchildren, Dawson Phillips, Jaden and Ashley Milne all of Calgary.

Robert was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Reta; and his sisters Nora and Frances.

A celebration of life will be held at Elbow Springs Golf Club (240086 Lott Creek Drive) on Saturday, May 5,2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the golf course. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A special Thank You to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff in Unit 94 at Rockyview Hospital for their wonderful care. Thank you to the Shalem team and many friends he made there

In living memory of Robert Ferris, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

After hearing about him from you and seeing various pictures, especially him dancing with you at the dances in Mesa it’s obvious what a wonderful Man, Husband and Father he must have been.
