Ed Faucher beloved husband of Darlene Faucher (nee Lighthart), of Airdrie, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the age of 71 years.
Ed moved to Calgary, AB, Canada in 1978 where he resided until 1999; when he and Darlene moved to Airdrie. Ed married Darlene on May 6, 1989.
He was a man of many talents: a certified welder, a locksmith, a class 1 truck driver, a trained home inspector and he recently received his Accounting diploma. He truly enjoyed continuing to learn through out his life.
Ed was hard working and a dedicated man. With almost 20 years at Acropolis Steel., Ed wasn’t just a part of the company; he was part of the family. Ed was well known and respected in the community. Ed was a warm, loving compassionate and irreplaceable man. He affected the lives of everyone he met. Ed had a triple by-pass open heart surgery in September 2017.
He enjoyed hunting, bowling and walking his fur-baby Lola! Ed loved to play Uno with his close friends Charlie and Max; and playing Go-Fish with grand-daughter Teagan. He also loved food and family barbeques.
Ed’s most memorable vacation was when he went to Hawaii in 1984. He enjoyed the Palm trees and beaches. He also really enjoyed a house boat trip to the Shuswap. Ed loved going on many cruises with his wife Darlene. Ed will be most remembered for his over sized pancakes, contagious smile and his favourite sayings “Awesome” and “Right On”.
Ed was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Besides his loving wife Darlene, Ed is survived by his children Kathy Swayze (Doug), Trudy Nichols, Paul Faucher and Tom Nichols; and grandchildren, Courtney Lynn, Kylie Marie, Samuel John Edward, Zachary Lagler, Cameron van Gelder and Teagan Hargreaves. Ed is also survived by his brothers, Albert (Rose), Noel (Therese), Ron (Juliette), Roland (Sharon), Marcel (Jean), Leo (Cindy) and Henry (Karen) and sister-in-law Rose Marie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ed was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Esther; and by his brother Alfred.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Airdrie, 300 Towerlane Drive) on Saturday, July, 13, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
