ERICKSON, Milton Irvin

May 16, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Milton (Milt) Irvin Erickson of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the age of 81 years after a long and courageous struggle with cancer.

Milt was born and raised on a farm in Scotsguard, Saskatchewan. As a young man, Milt moved to Regina where he met and married Audrey. They moved to Saskatoon while Milt attended the University of Saskatchewan. After he received his degree in Bachelor of Commerce, Milt and his family moved to Calgary, Alberta. There he began his career as a Chartered Accountant with Riddle, Steed, Graham & Hutchinson which then became Thorne Riddell where he became a Partner. Over the years, Milt worked and partnered with various Oil & Gas Companies as CFO including Ocelot, United Rayor, Valparaiso, Raptor Capital and Rising Star.

Milt participated in a variety of sports either coaching or playing, some of which were fastball, hockey and squash. He was an avid golfer and was very proud of his hole-in-one back in 2009. Milt also spent many years volunteering with Jaycees and the Calgary Stampede Board on the Balloon Committee which lead to the opportunity to drive VIPs for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

He is survived by his daughters; Kathleen Mogg (Harry), Joanne Voll (Neal) and son, Ronald (Francine) with seven grandchildren; Jonathan (Nancy), Robert, Emilie (Matthew), Benjamin (Emily), Jeremy, Garrett and Sara; and five great-grandchildren. Milt is also survived by his two sisters, Elaine Andreassen (Ralph) and Diane Erickson. Milt was predeceased by his parents, Sverre and Eleanor Erickson, his brother, Ken (Geraldine) and his loving wife of sixty years, Audrey.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Milt may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to send their thanks to Dulcina Hospice and Unit 47 of the Foothills Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Milt.
