ERICKSON, Audrey Bernice (nee Andrews)

October 18, 1937 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan
November 24, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Audrey Erickson of Calgary passed away on November 24, 2018 at the age of 81 years after a long and courageous struggle with COPD.

Audrey was born in Swift Current and grew up in Saskatchewan living in Regina, Saskatoon, and Melville. She received her senior matriculation from Regina College. She met and married Milt, her husband of 60 years, in Regina, subsequently living in Saskatoon while Milt attended university and then for the past 53 years, she has resided in Calgary.

Audrey was primarily a stay at home mom but she was engaged in the accounting profession while Milt attended university and after her children became older. Audrey had a great love of learning that began with music and playing the piano. It continued throughout her life as she attended the University of Calgary and earned a degree in Linguistics. She was also a published author.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Milt; daughter, Kathleen Mogg (Harry); son, Ronald (Francine); and daughter, Joanne Voll (Neal). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Nancy), Robert, Emilie (Matt), Benjamin (Emily), Jeremy, Garrett, and Sara, and five great-grandchildren, Niomi, Erica, Landon, Tyson, and Emmett. Audrey is also survived by her sister, Aileen Grimsrud and brother, Jacklin Andrews (Wendy).

Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Berniece Andrews.

The family would like to send their thanks to Dr. Karen Rimmer, of the Peter Lougheed Respiratory Department who supported and helped Audrey with her lung care for the past 18 years. We would also like to extend our thanks to the staff of unit 57 at the Rockyview General Hospital for their recent compassionate care of Audrey.

Donations in memory of Audrey may be made to a charity of your choice.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

    Shared many activities with the CAWives Club’
    She was the “go to” person with the bridge club.
    We discussed her book in the Book Club.
    Also I had a class with Audrey at U of C where we had many interesting chats.
    I feel I got to know her children and grandchildren.
