Geoffrey David Edington passed away on April 10, 2019 at the age of 69.
Born on August 28th, 1949, he grew up in New Westminster BC, living and loving music. Geoff was a well-known presence in the Vancouver entertainment scene, beginning as the singer for “William Tell and the Marksmen” and then becoming the lead singer of the popular band “Seeds of Time”. Highlights of his music career were the records “My Hometown” and “Cryin the Blues” hitting number 5 on the Vancouver charts, playing at the Retinal Circus and performing with the band at the famed Easter Be-Ins in Stanley Park. In his later years, Geoff was a presence in downtown Vancouver as co-owner of the popular restaurants “The Planet” and “Foghorn’s Roadhouse”. Geoffrey was known by many nicknames – “William Tell”, “King Dudley”, and affectionately as “Jeffy”. He was funny, full of character with an infectious laugh and left behind a musical legacy with the Seeds of Time. Whatever era you knew Geoff from, you were lucky to know him – “He stomped on the terra!”
He is survived by his daughter Syreeta Edington; grandchildren Taylor and Trevor; and his sisters Chris and Claudia. He is also remembered with love and fondness by the Stewart family.
