EDGAR, Ronald Craig

November 18, 1946 – Hamilton, Ontario
May 7, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Ron on Monday, May 7, 2018. Born in Hamilton, Ontario on November 18, 1946, Ron led a full life bringing laughter and joy to those around him.

He was well known for his integrity, honesty and generosity. Those of us who knew him best will forever carry his memory in our hearts. Ron spent his career working for Calgary Transit where he earned the nickname “Rocket Ronnie” for his relaxed demeanor.

A loving father, husband and a supporter of charities, especially giving to our veterans for as long as we can remember, every chance he had. Ron will be missed greatly.

Ron’s favourite quote was “I will be fine in the morning”. Today and forever we will live by his words and know that we will be better in the morning.

Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Ronald Edgar, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E., Calgary, AB, T2A 3V9, Telephone: 403- 248-8585.

  7. Dan Roberts :

I enjoyed talking to Ron every time I saw him. He had an insite into the chaos that could break out in the mornings at the VP garage, which his wry humor put in perspective. When I’d say ” how are you Ron” and he’d answer “fair to middling”. It was a cue to hear a story about some silly event on his shift. I’ll miss that.

So sorry to hear this, and so soon after his retirement, I had hoped Ron would have had a chance to take the time to enjoy his retirement. I miss Ron at work he had a wit and loved giving classic movie quotes, he kept it interesting.

As a passenger of Ron’s who has a learning disability, he treated me with kindness and respect. He was always ready with a quick joke or something to make me smile. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends and fellow Calgary Transit drivers who knew him.
