My condolences to the family. Mr. Jack Earl was my grade 6 teacher 1955-56 at St. Pat’s Boys School , Brunswick St. Halifax, NS. I have passed the notice on to our “Gottingen St. Neighbourhood” Face Book group.

Condolence from Mary McGough Chiasson on January 24th, 2015 10:32 AM

To the Earle family my condolences. Mr. Earle was a teacher of mine at St. Agnes School in Halifax, NS back in 1956-57, he was also the Vice Principal at that time. We as students looked up to him and he was very kind with his discipline – serious times but also fun times which flooded back to me when I read his obituary. God Bless you all.

Condolence from William Joseph Earle on January 24th, 2015 4:28 PM

I was sorry to read the passing of Jack. I would like to express my condolence to Jack’s wife, Phyllis, and family. I am the oldest son of Joseph Herbert Earle, Jack’s uncle. I, as a youth, can remember when Jack was attending college on Windsor Street in Halifax, and would visit our house on Lawrence Street, close to the college. God bless all of You. Bill Earle.

Condolence from Dianne and Michael Penny on January 25th, 2015 3:53 PM

We wish to express our deepest sympathy to Phyllis and family on the passing of Jack (Dr. Earle). Many years ago we worked with Jack at Prince George College and have many fond memories of him. He was very supportive to two young, green teachers from Nova Scotia in a challenging teaching situation and then very helpful in helping us find employment in Calgary with the Calgary Catholic School Board. We have never forgotten his kindness and support and know we owe a great deal to him. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Condolence from Ann Louise Kerr on January 26th, 2015 8:12 AM

Dear Phyllis,
I was saddened to hear of Uncle Jack’s passing. Although I haven’t seen him in a few years, Jean kept me updated. I always enjoyed your visits and I will never forget my visit with you. We had such fun at the wedding and during my entire visit. I hope Mom can come to the service and I would love to be with her, however I will stay home with Dad so that she can go. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

-Ann Louise

Condolence from Michael Casey on January 27th, 2015 4:57 PM

Thank you for putting the notice in the Halifax paper. I was saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. I remember Doug and Pat always referring to “Jack and Phyllis” many times when they were young. I also remember Jack and Doug smoking cigarettes – quite sure my memory is correct on that. I also remember you all had a pretty good time together during those years. I still live in Halifax, and on my daily walk I go by your old place in Westmount.

All the best to the all of you.

Mike Casey

Condolence from Harvey Beaton on January 27th, 2015 6:27 PM

Dear Phyllis and Family,
I was very sorry to hear of Jack’s death. He was my first principal when I began teaching back in 1984 at Prince George College. He was very good to me at the time and encouraged me when I decided that I wanted to return to the east coast — which I did in 1986. I offer my sincere sympathy at this difficult time.
Regards,
Harvey Beaton

My deepest condolences to Phyllis and family. Dr. Earle was both Principal and professional advocate to so many of us at P.G.C. in our early careers. I remember with fondest regard his mentorship and support. As he would so often acclaim, “God bless!”
Sincerely and respectfully, Alan Smith
