Condolence from Malley Dunn on April 23rd, 2016 12:03 PM

Having the same last name, Loyola would sometimes mix up the mailing of report cards and Rick’s would be mailed to my home. Rick, being the more studious academic than barely passing me, would always have glowing marks. My father was taken aback by my achievements until he turned over the card and read the name on the front. I can only imagine what Rick’s mother felt when she saw my marks! This was a constant joke between us. He was the person who got me reconnected to long lost good friends after I moved away. For this I will be forever grateful. May you have peace Rick.

It was only a few months ago that Rick and I spent our usual laugh filled telephone call and relived many of those precious moments from the past. He was so special and I considered him my best friend for so many years back in the day. He was also special to so many of us ex-Montrealers as the glue that held us together. Rick always knew what was going on with everyone, and we relied on him for that.
There was no better guy to know.

So very sad to receive the news of Rick’s passing. A very loyal friend, when Rick wanted to find me he had all the connections in Monreal to do so. It was wonderful to reconnect after many years and to meet Marlene his lovely wife. Rick will be remembered always by all who knew him, a special guy.
My deepest sympathy to Marlene and Rick’s family.
Hugs Pat
