  3. Goodbye my old friend Mr. Kenneth Dorscher. My old friend of the thirties and the forties. I remember how we used to snow shoe our way over to Sunnymeade School to take arithmetic from Mr. Carl Carlson. Then in milder weather we used to ride our painted ponies to the school and take social studies from Mr. Jack Thomas. We used to race our domocrats in Cherry Coulee over by the Alex Gyorfi Sr. place. It was a bit further to go because the Dorscher farm was on the Nemiscam road some 2 miles north of the John Ley place. We would take our Remington 22 caliber rifles over to the Buster Casper farm and shoot the ground squirrels around Mary’s potato patch. Shame they closed the Sunnymeade school back on 1943 and we had to find our way into Bow Island with Nick Taylor, Nick Ancion, Kathleen Gyorfi, Alex Gyorfi, Betty Szansiszlo and others.

My deepest Condolence to the family,
    Steve Gruzman Jr. (Szansiszlo Family)
