I only just found out last night of Joel’s passing, and can hardly believe the news. So full of laughter and life. A really great guy -I remember how much he loved marketing and the creative process. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. What a write up about him. And that picture so summarizes how I remember him…big smile; full of life. I had the chance years ago to golf with him in a tournament and learned first hand of his lust for life and his fabulous big hearted sense of humor. Life is truly to short to dwell on the negatives and too precious not to live in the moment…we’ve got to cherish and live and love every day and those in it. My thoughts and prayers are with you all

Condolence from Lola Eidse on January 27th, 2016 7:07 PM

Dear Family of my dear friend Joel…
I am in shock as I was going to send Joel a birthday message ….I only just now found out that Joel has left this earth. My heart is broken, for you and all those who loved him…including myself. I was dear friends with Joel (Joelly as I called him) while he lived in Winnipeg. We attended the same church(Saint Benedict’s Table) and both served on the board together during that time.. we had many wonderful, fun, silly, meaningful, goofy times together, no one has ever made me laugh like Joel could…some very precious memories. Joel and I shared a very special friendship…a kindship…and though we have lived far apart for many years (him in Calgary and myself in Africa and now back in Winnipeg) our random connections on FB or when he has been in Winnipeg have always been genuine and we pick up right where we left off. I cannot believe he is gone…a great light has gone out. I am so thankful for the assurance that he is in Heaven, that he is with his Mama…and that we will see one another again. Thank you for letting me talk about him…thank you for sharing him with all of us here in Manitoba – it must have been hard to have him living so far from you those years. My life is better because I knew & shared love with Joel…I will never forget him <3 HUGE love to you, his family….and prayers for peace that passes all understanding.
Love Lola Eidse
