DIXON, Alvin Ronald (Roy)

September 17, 1961 – August 19, 2016

Alvin passed away on Friday, August 19 with his daughters and son by his side at Rockyview Hospital.

Alvin loved the sport of rodeo; he participated in several events with Steer Wrestling being his favorite event. He was a hockey player and played for the High River Flyers where his picture still remains at the hockey arena. He enjoyed telling stories about when he used to play hockey with The Brandon Wheat Kings. His Mom was his number one fan in any sports he was in. He had nicknames for each of his daughters and his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his daughters play hockey and was very proud of their accomplishments. He loved all his grandchildren.

Alvin is survived by his daughters who he loved dearly, Carla (Jonathan Daniels), Tiffany (Jeremy), Livia, Keshia (Leo) and Erin (Denny); son, John; adopted sons, Josh (Jamie), Justin and JR (Tristan); grandchildren, TJ, Anna, Rylie, Jada, Drey, Rio, Jace, Reagan, Candaleigha, Harmonie, Tayezlin, Junior and Teigan; his father, Rayden; sister, Laverna (Darren); adopted sisters, Marcie (Dave) Brooks, Margaret (Terry) Rider, Heather (Kelly) Poucette and Wanda (Felix) Beaver; brothers, James Wells, Keith Lefthand, Darcy Dixon, Jarrett Daniels, Doug Many Grey Horses, Danny & Donny McDougall, Winston Dixon, Joe & Tony Lefthand, Stan Wells and Rudy Mclean.

He was predeceased by his mother, Annie; his adopted mom Bertha Crawler, grandparents, Judea Dixon and Mary Rollinmud; uncles, Garvin, Ernie, Raymond Sr and Richard; brothers, Ray and Tom Dixon; sister, Careina; nephew, Tyson; niece, Candace; grandson, Traezlin; adopted son, Rylie Rider.

Wake services will be held at the residence Keshia Starlight, Tsuut’ina Nation on Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Funeral Services will be held at Chief Jacob Bearspaw School, Eden Valley on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through Graveside Service at Eden Valley Cemetery. We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses on the 3rd floor at Peter Lougheed Hospital & Tsuut’ina Fire Department.
