March 25, 1956 – Liverpool, Great Britain
March 21, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
Much loved son of his predeceased parents Pamela and Ronald, Mark passed away when his body could no longer sustain life following a battle with the disease of addiction.
Mark was born in Liverpool and attended the University of Portsmouth where he received his degree in Geology. After graduation in 1978 he moved to Canada and worked in the Oil and Gas industry for over thirty years, based out of Calgary. His love of music was well-known by all with a very large collection of CD’s and records collected over many decades. His eclectic taste took him from what many of his friends saw as his theme song “Go West” by The Pet Shop Boys to his favorite operatic aria “Mon Coeur” from Samson and Delilah. His joy of cooking was apparent to anyone that had the pleasure of partaking and experiencing any of his meals.
Mark leaves his loving brother Keith Nicholas Diamond of Calgary; sister Hilary and brother-in-law Trevor Beal; nieces Emma and Sarah; great-nephew Jordan; god-daughter Jennifer MacFarlane, daughter of his long time friends Duncan and Catherine; his former partner Bob McPhee; his always-loving 16-year-old Westie Angus, and many friends.
Thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at the Rockyview Hospital ICU. Keith and Bob would like to thank you Brian Mahoney for his friendship and support through these times.
Honouring Mark’s wishes no celebration will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, gifts can be given in memory of Mark to Recovery Acres at www.recoveryacres.org.
In living memory of Mark Diamond, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
