Dear Holscher family – my deepest condolences go out to you at this time of grieving such a fine lady. I worked at Emerald Lake in 1975 when Francis & Bob ran the hotel. To this day I’m not sure how they put up with the comings and goings of the staff. Francis was a master at making sure everything ran like clockwork even if it meant the cook tearing off to Lake Louise to pick up an extra tenderloin due to a unexpected large party of guests arriving. Many years later I stopped by Kootenay Park Lodge to visit when she and Paul were running the mountainside destination. As a matter of fact our family has always called that spot “the Holscher place.” I have many more memories of Francis, she was a fine lady indeed.
