DECORBY, Keith James

May 17, 1942 – Lebret, Saskatchewan
January 9, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Keith DeCorby passed away after a courageous struggle, on Wednesday, January 9th 2019.

Keith was born in Lebret SK, to loving parents Emile and Margaret DeCorby, brother to 11 siblings. He moved to Calgary to raise his family, where he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and sharing his knowledge as a leader in the Junior Forest Wardens. He had a genuine fondness for nature and animals.

His ability to tell a story or to pull off a prank was legendary. Keith could play cards with the best of them and often “sat in the bush”, winning the game before anyone realized. He was quick to lend a hand or an opinion, was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

He left behind his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Jeanette, sons Darren (Kim) and Darrel (Sherilen). Keith joins his youngest son Daniel, who left us all on July 16th, 2009.

The life of Keith DeCorby will be celebrated on January 19th, from 14:00 – 20:00 at the Renfrew Community Centre (811 Radford Rd NE, Calgary). All who knew him are invited to come celebrate his life.
Please come and join Keith’s extended family and friends, play games, eat, drink, and reflect on the man our father was.
Doors open 14:00
Open reflections for all who wish to share.
Refreshments will be available from 15:00 – 19:00. A buffet will be available throughout the evening.

Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Keith DeCorby, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, CALGARY, AB, T2E 2V6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

Keith & Jeanette have been members of the Winston [Elks] Crib Club since 2008. It didn’t take long for the trophy to be presented to them – in 2011 and again in 2016. Keith will be remembered for his passion for all sports, his Maple Leafs, cars and his family – and of course, his teasing. He will be missed.
Jeanette – you and your family are in our thoughts.
