June 16, 1985 – Edmonton, Alberta
October 22, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta
Riley Dawson of Calgary, Alberta passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 31 years.
Riley passed peacefully in his sleep at home due to complications arising from a recent heart surgery. Riley cut a wide path through life and will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. He had a life long love of music, his pets and cooking. He spent many years working in kitchens of various restaurants in Calgary, Vancouver and most recently in Medicine Hat. His greatest passion however was expressed through his love of and loyalty to family and friends. Riley had a fiery gaze but a heart of gold, and a gift of writing. Some lyrics he wrote recently are appropriate now.
Please don’t leave me
Please don’t go
My heart lay wasted
The thought of your sorrow
Let me hold you
Take your pain away
Crawl into your nightmare
Let you wake dreaming
