Robert “Bob” beloved husband of Margaret Cyr (nee Young) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Val D’Or, Quebec to Edouard and Blanche Cyr, the seventh of eight children. Bob grew up in Lachute, Quebec and at the age of 17 he joined the R.C.A.F. He later met and married Margaret Young when they were stationed at Downsview Air Force Base in Toronto, ON.
Bob’s thirty year career was with Air Canada from 1968 to 1998 at YYC. Bob was a jack of all trades and after retiring he continued to enjoy working in a variety of industries, from painting pipelines and houses, doing odd jobs at a pipeline supply company, to helping manage a family owned hair salon.
Bob liked to golf and RV, including snowbirding to Arizona for many years. He enjoyed sports and he especially loved watching his grandchildren in any sport they played. Bob was an incredible husband, dad, papa, and friend. He will be missed by all.
Bob’s family was his greatest joy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; five children and their spouses, Lynn (Rick) O’Neill, Michelle (Cosmo) Spina, Annette (Keith) Lindner, Robert (Claire) Cyr, Tina (Chris) Whitfield; eleven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
