COLLETT, Paul Arthur

June 29, 1966 – Montreal, Quebec
November 30, 2018 – Okotoks, Alberta

The family of Mr. Paul Collett regret to announce his sudden passing on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 52 years.

Paul was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved to Stephenville, NL with his family when he was five years old. During his school years Paul worked at a local garage: French’s Esso, which ignited his passion for cars and racing. After he finished high school he joined his two sisters in Alberta. He lived in Edmonton for several years and eventually settled in Calgary. He worked as a pressman for Transcontinental but his passion was always cars. After his accident that left him paralyzed, he channelled his love for speed to drones and became an expert remote pilot. He was an avid collector of drones, swords and sci-fi memorabilia. He also had a profound love for Jackie Chan movies! Through his many health related challenges, he inspired all those around him through his courage and kindness. He always said he just wanted to be known as “a nice guy” and he certainly will be remembered that way.

Paul was survived by his mother, Margaret Adams Collett; sisters, Sandra Nippard (Eric), Sharon Stacey (Craig) and Myra MacKay (Angus).

Paul was predeceased by his father, Thomas Collett and his cat and best friend, Mopar.

Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Please dress casual. Reception to follow at the home of Ryan and Becky Stacey (1165 Prestwick Circle S.E.). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
