March 8, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta

Jinsoo beloved husband of Jemma Choi (nee Hong) of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the age of 75 years.

Jinsoo was born and raised in Korea, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Hanyang University in Seoul. He immigrated to Canada in 1970. In 1973 he married Jemma, the love of his life, in Calgary where they raised four children Rosabel, Edward, Arnold, and Estelle. He was a joyful and proud father. For over forty years, Jinsoo worked as a B Pressure Welder, committing his life and soul to his family. He retired five years ago, during which he enjoyed travelling, Korean television, newspapers, and long walks with his wife Jemma. His quirky good spirit always made people feel happy and loved.

Jinsoo is survived by his loving wife Jemma; children Rosabel, Edward, Arnold, and Estelle; and siblings Minsoo, Kyungson, and Younghee. His brother Chungsoo Choi passed away soon after on March 12, 2015.  Jinsoo was predeceased by his second daughter Annabel in 1982.

What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose.
All that we love deeply becomes part of us.

Condolence from Vincent Leung on March 13th, 2015 10:29 AM

Dear Jemma, Arnold, Rosie, Estelle and Eddie,
Sorry to hear about the passing of Jinsoo so suddenly. It took me a while to settle in that Jinsoo is no longer with us. My memory of Jinsoo as a helpful friend is always fresh in my mind because he helped me to inspect the welding work of my contractors as diligence as he was checking his work. Deeply touched by his attention to details and time. More, his sacrificial love for his family in helping his children to pursue their dreams is examplary to all. Well done Jinsoo and May God keep you and your family whole.
Love, Vincent and Leona

Condolence from Marlene & Don Harris on March 26th, 2015 11:25 PM

Dear Jemma, Eddie and siblings,
We were so sorry to hear from our son Jon of Jinsoo’s passing. Occasionally we had a glimpse of him years ago when our families were involved in the Calgary Youth Orchestra. Mostly we sensed that he worked very hard to provide exceptional opportunities for his children. And their success and musical achievement is a legacy not only for them but to the rest of us who have enjoyed their fine music from time to time. We appreciate all his efforts and the efforts of the rest of his family for contributing so much to our society, and we send our love and sympathy to all his family during this difficult time.
Marlene & Don Harris
