It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Theo Charmbury of Calgary on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 85 years.

Theo was born on December 13, 1933 in Regina, SK. He grew up in Saskatoon where he met Darlene. They were married in 1957. They moved to Edmonton where Theo attended the University of Alberta graduating in Pharmacy. In 1967 they settled in Calgary. In 1971 Theo returned to university to obtain his Education degree. He taught at Marlborough and Louis Riel Elementary schools until his retirement in 1997. He loved teaching and opening the gym after school to play basketball and floor hockey with his students and former students. Theo and Darlene loved to travel. Their favourite was always France. He loved his family, his dogs and making sure the bird feeders were full. He loved black and white photography. He took beautiful photos many of which are pieces of art in his children’s homes. They loved camping and built a log cabin in Farragut Village, Idaho. In 1988-1989 Theo accepted a teachers exchange to Cambridge, England. From there they travelled to various countries in Europe and Russia.

Theo was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Marian Charmbury, his beloved wife Darlene in 2016 and his cousin Gary Conn. Gary and Theo were like brothers.
