CAYENNE, Anne Betty (nee Hewko)

January 12th, 1935, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan – April 14th, 2018, Calgary, Alberta.

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Anne Cayenne beloved mother and grandmother on April 14, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Born in Maple Creek Saskatchewan, Anne was raised in Wayne AB. Growing up, Anne loved school. She would talk about how when there was a bad snow, her mom wouldn’t wake the girls up for school. When Anne woke up, she would be upset by that and get dressed and off to school she would go. Anne was very protective of her sister Madeline and friend Donna. Anne was known to take on anyone who tried to bully or harm either in any way. Anne travelled throughout Canada during her younger years, from Vancouver to Toronto. When Anne returned home from back east for her sister Madeline’s wedding she stayed home, met her husband Nick and proceeded to start a family.

Anne loved watching Football, Hockey and Curling and had season tickets to the Calgary Stampeders’ and went to Calgary Flames games whenever she could. Anne loved going to Vegas and went numerous times with her friends Gord, Jean and Roz.

Anne loved going to the Calgary Stampede each year. On the Family Day Sunday, both she and her sister Edna would line up early to be first in line for the breakfast and good seats to the Family Day Grandstand show.

Anne was devoted to her children and family. She especially loved the family get togethers during the holidays. There isn’t anything Anne wouldn’t do for her children and grandchildren and her love for them was unmatched.

Anne is survived by her children, daughter Carol and her  spouse Bob, grandchildren Robert, Trevor and Kevin, great-grandson Lucian; son Nick; daughter Patty and her spouse Guy, grandchildren Anne and Richard; and son Steve, grandson Nolan. Anne is also survived by her sister Edna and brother-in-law Russ, brothers Leonard and Bill and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne is also survived by Kitty, her cat whom she cherished.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Nick in November 1980, her mother Maeline Cayenne in November 1988, her father Dave Mosquito in 1953, her Stepfather Fred Cayenne in February 1958, sister Madeline in April 2016 and brothers Pepper in August 1999 and Lawrence and David Ross.
