CARTWRIGHT, Brian Douglas

August 10, 1948 – Toronto, Ontario
April 8, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Brian Cartwright, beloved husband of Ann of 32 years, passed away with family at his side on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the age of 70 years in the city of Calgary, Alberta.

He will be deeply missed and is survived by his children, Bill (Mel), Jennifer, Wayne (Char), Dawn, Wendy; and his wife Ann and her children, Bill, Anna, Sonya; Brian is also survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Stott; brothers, Jim, David (Linda), John (Hilda), Rick (Brenda), Bob (Heather); sisters, Gail (Eddy), Robyn (Dave), and Debby (Art). He also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and many friends.

Brian worked for the City of Calgary for thirty-one years. He took a strong interest in CB radios in his younger years and his interest in computers started shortly thereafter. He was self-taught and poured himself into his hobbies, much to the dismay of his wife Ann. A couple of memorable vacations for Brian was when he and Ann travelled to Amsterdam to see Ann’s home country, and when they did an Alaskan cruise with fifteen family members.

Special thanks to Anna Stuewe from Palliative Care, Chinook Hospice, and Dr. D. Morris and staff.

A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2:30p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 Telephone: (403) 205-3966, email donorservices@cancer.ab.ca. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

Even at 70, you are too young to go. Our thoughts are with you and the whole family. We wish you strength.

70 is natuurlijk veel te jong. Onze gedachten zijn bij jou en de rest van de familie. Heel veel sterkte
