CAMPBELL, Robert John

February 13, 1950 – April 27, 2018

Bob was suddenly and tragically taken from us on April 27, 2018 at the age of 68 years. He was killed in a motor vehicle accident north of Cochrane on Highway 22 when another driver crossed into his lane causing the head on collision that ended both of their lives.

Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was devoted to his family, always putting their needs in front of his own. He was also an important part of the community with his involvement in many different organizations such as Big Hill Haven, P.A.D.S., Cochrane Curling Club, Cochrane Ringette, Alcoholics Anonymous and countless others.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lee. Bob will be greatly missed by his son Bryan (Melanie), daughter Robyn (Jason) Bujold, sister Jacquie (Larry) Breitkreitz, sister Lynn (Barry) Tanner and his six favorite people, his grandchildren; Kasey, Maddy, Hannah, Jacob, Jaxon and Chloe as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. The love of his family and friends was a source of great joy and comfort to Bob.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Drive, Cochrane, AB), on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the GoFund Me campaign,
“In Memory of Bob Campbell”. All money raised will go towards the Big Hill Haven Emergency Women’s Shelter in memory of Bob.

In living memory of Bob Campbell, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE, AB, T4C 2E2, Telephone: 403-932-4740.

Such a tragic loss for your family and the greater Cochrane community. Bob was an amazing member of our community in that great sport that binds us all together every weekend. His dedication to his family is paralleled by his involvement as referee and never hesitating to help train our off ice officials.

Bob, you will be dearly missed

  7. Melanie Hayden :

I had the pleasure and honor of volunteering with Bob at PADS. He was always kind and generous with his support, fun and funny. He was passionate and caring about making sure Remmy had the best training possible to help him reach his potential, giving him every opportunity to succeed in the program. He was always getting out to as many events as possible with Remmy and had a great way of making sure everyone felt special. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved and cherished Bob.

We were very saddened to learn of Mr. Bob’s passing…my son read to Remmy regularly at Eric Harvie School. My daughter made cards for the family hoping there would be a way to get them to the family. You are in our thoughts.
