CAIRNS, Audrey

August 15, 1926 – Grand Falls, Newfoundland
May 19, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Audrey Cairns (nee Rowsell), of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the age of 91 years. She will be missed.

Audrey loved life, friends, family, practical jokes and had an infectious laugh. Above all she loved God and was an active Salvationist for her entire life. She was one of the original founding congregants of Glenmore Temple of the Salvation Army in Calgary.

Audrey was strongly devoted to her brothers and sisters, outliving all but one of them. For each, she was a present and direct help during their final days and months in this life. Sadly, Audrey has spent her last year’s suffering the progression of Alzheimers.

“Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:23

Audrey is survived by her brother Terry, who is sadly also suffering the devastating affects of Alzeimers, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces from the B.C. coast to Newfoundland.

Audrey was predeceased by her devoted husband Alec, father James (died 1940), step-father Fred and mother Eliza.

Funeral Services will be held at Salvation Army Glenmore Temple (921 – 68 Avenue S.W. Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society Of Calgary 800, 7015 MacLeod Trail SW, Calgary, AB T2H 2K6 Telephone: 403-290-0110   https://www.alzheimercalgary.ca/get-involved/donate-now
