BUTULA, Shirley Marian

February 18, 1938 – Alexander, Manitoba
March 21, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Shirley Butula passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the age of 78 years, following a courageous, lengthy battle with Myelodysplasia.

Shirley was an avid golfer, enjoyed ice skating and the comradery that came with that, watching curling and going dancing. Time was spent reading, cooking and baking. She also liked playing cards, crocheting and knitting. The summers during her retirement were spent at Sundre camping and golfing.

Shirley is survived by her partner of 16 years, Earl Smith, grandchildren Zachary and Emily Barrowcliff and Jesse Lukenuik; siblings Olive (David) Speers, Jean Dane all of Brandon, MB, Florence (Ted) Douglas of Calgary, Marilyn (Ernie) Kohut of Souris, MB, brothers-in-law Jim MacGill and Bob Bailey as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and her numerous friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Morris Butula in 1991, her son Bradley Morris Butula in 1973, siblings Martha MacGill, Harold Dunn, Betty Bailey and Myron Dunn.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
