BRADLEY, Joan Patricia (nee Cook), A.R.C.T.

December 3, 2013 – Calgary, AB

Joan Patricia Bradley of Calgary, passed away peacefully at Wentworth Manor after a long journey with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the age of 80 years.

Joan was born in Moose Jaw, SK, daughter of Bill and Ivy Cook. She attended school in Moose Jaw where she began a career in music. She acquired an ARCT as Singing Solo Performer at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Joan met and married Norman in Toronto. The family relocated to Calgary in 1972 where Joan taught piano, music theory and singing to children in the communities of Oakridge, Palliser and Bayview for many years, preparing them for Conservatory exams. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, passion for music and love of family.

She is survived by her loving husband Norman of fifty years, and by her daughter Dianne Bradley.

Memorial Services will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Mount Royal University Conservatory, 403-440-7775. The family thanks the staff at the Wentworth Manor for the kind and compassionate care given to Joan.

    All tough we will miss their presents and there shining eyes and smiling faces, we will always hold them close to our hearts and the memories and beautiful moments will live inside us forever, and when we end our journey in this life, we will rejoice in our meeting again in a place of beauty and everlasting internal life.
    My condolences to you both, I know the sense of loss your feeling at this time, and time will heal your broken hearts, and know this, Joan is an Angel now looking over you both, looking over us all!
    I’ll never forget her kind ways in teaching me the piano, she was kind but at times stern, but her eyes always shined with proudness in her students learning’s and she would show it with her unforgettable BIG smile.
