BLACK, Jeanette Ann

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Jeanette Ann Black announce her passing on Friday, July 5, 2019, at the age of 88 years, after a valiant battle with both cancer and stroke.

Jeanette lived all her life in Calgary, attended Crescent Heights High school, enrolled in secretarial school and then worked as a secretary in the oil and gas industry. In her early years Jeanette was an opera singer, speed skater and avid five pin bowler. She also took up golf with her husband Stan as members of the Willow Park Golf and Country Club; she went on frequent golf trips to Radium, Phoenix, and Palm Springs and Jeanette had a couple of holes in one. She enjoyed cruises and travelling with her husband Stan in their retirement years.

Jeanette leaves behind her two daughters, Lynda and Brenda; sons-in-law, Chris Walker and Brad Stone; cherished grandson Brenden Walker; sister Mary (Peter) Gubitz; niece Karen Charmbury (John, Gillian, Breanne); nephews, Gord Gubitz, Brad (Roxanne), Darren, and Trent Black, sister-in-law Joan Black, and numerous relatives and friends. Jeanette was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty four years Stan Black, brothers, Herb and Wayne; brother-in-law Don Black, and her parents Alice and Ralph Hamilton.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the funeral home.
