BIEN, Leslie William

June 3, 1951 – Regina, Saskatchewan
August 3, 2019 – Calgary Alberta

Les William Bien cherished husband, father, and grandfather passed away on the evening of Saturday, August, 3, 2019 in his home at the age of 68 years.

Les was born in Regina, SK on June 3, 1951 and was raised there with his two younger brothers until he moved to Calgary in 1972. Les moved to Calgary at the age of 21 to attend trade school at SAIT to become a sheet metal mechanic. Shortly after he met Charlene, they dated for 2 years before getting married in 1974. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 29 of this year.

One of Les’ favorite pastimes was spending time with his grandchildren; his greatest joy was watching them splash and play in the pool or running around at the Lake. Les’ hobbies included woodworking, making deer sausage with his sons-in-law, wine making, fishing, watching his favorite football team the Saskatchewan Rough Riders, and building anything he came up with. There was not much he could not build, all you had to do was ask and he would build it. His famous saying was Get ’er done!

Les will be most remembered for his tough exterior but soft heart and strong hands!

Les is survived by his loving wife Charlene, his two daughters Trista and Chandra; his sons-in-law Herb and Cody; his six grandchildren Joshwa, Jadin, Aaliyah, Hunter, Maisyn and Blake. Les is also survived by his two brothers Gary and Brian; his sisters-in-law Polly and Marilyn; Charlene’s brothers Daryle and Gary; and sisters-in-law Shelley and Cathy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Les will be deeply missed by all who knew him to remember Les we request that everyone wears Saskatchewan Rough Riders jerseys, shirts or green at the service as he was a die hard fan. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August, 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home . Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com
