BERRETH, Allan “Al” Irvine

December 26, 1926 – Beiseker, Alberta
May 12, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Allan passed peacefully at the Newport Harbour Care Centre in Calgary following a brief illness on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Allan was born on the home farm northeast of Beiseker Alberta, the youngest of 13 children. He married Margaret Adshead December 31, 1947. They lived in Beiseker and farmed for over 50 years before retiring (mostly!) to Calgary. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and an enthusiastic member of the Beiseker Curling Club. Allan was a life member of Irricana Lodge # 137 AF&AM and a member of the Al Ahzar Shrine and Wildrose Shrine Club in Airdrie. He and Margaret were members of Zenith Chapter #85 Order of the Eastern Star in Cochrane Alberta. Allan and Margaret travelled extensively but always returned to spend the winter in their condo in Waikiki.

Allan is survived by his daughters Adele (Eugene) Belyk and Linda Berreth. He also has 2 grandsons Cory (Kristi) Belyk and their sons Kagan and Torin; Trevor (Wendy) Belyk and their daughters Emma and Gracie, his sister Jolene Shallard as well as numerous nephews, nieces and their families.

Allan was predeceased by his wife Margaret and eleven of his thirteen brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow the funeral home. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Foothills Hospital, especially Unit 82. Our gratitude goes out to all the staff at the Newport Harbour Care Facility.
