August 24, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
Karen Rae Beaton (nee Morley), beloved wife of Mark Curtis Beaton of Calgary, Alberta passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the age of 48 years.
Karen was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on January 20, 1971. She moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1987, where she graduated from both SAIT with a diploma in Operations Management and Mount Royal University with a degree in Technical Writing. Karen and Mark were married in 1998. Their wedding embodied the creative, adventurous spirit and zeal for classic movies, Karen enjoyed. Karen’s most memorable vacation was when she and Mark spent their honeymoon in Disneyland and travelled to Switzerland and France. They both enjoyed a close-knit family with their two beloved fur babies, Riley and Buddy. With Karen’s love of learning, creativity, and imagination she enhanced those around her by eagerly sharing her knowledge. With her passion for baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting, classic movies, animation, storytelling, Disney and reading, she inspired all those around her to enjoy every moment. Karen’s first coherent sentence as a small child was “I will do” and she followed that statement throughout her entire life with integrity and honesty. Karen gave us the courage to take life and find the best in it, to always be encouraging and positive. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, her incredible patience, and immense kindness.
