BEAMISH, Eric Clark

May 30, 1931 – Winnipeg, Manitoba
January 3, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Eric Beamish of Calgary, AB passed away on January 3, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

Eric was a lifelong fan of peanut butter and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. However, his main focus was his wife Mae, AKA Precious. They were married for over 57 years. Eric cherished Mae, as he did his three daughters. Eric formed close friendships at Firestone and at Blaskin & Lane, where he worked happily for many years. He was a gentle giant, a kind and funny man, who always had an incredibly positive outlook on life. To know him was to love him. He is now on his “Sentimental Journey” to be with Mae.

Survived by his daughters Penny Simmons (Bob), Kim Bruce (Rob), and Candi Beamish (Mike); grandchildren Carly McGowan (Tom), Jenny Williston (Kevin), Chris Bruce, Sara Peters (Ryan); great-grandchildren Rileigh Williston, Austin Reynolds; brother-in-law Cam Smith (Bonnie). Eric is predeceased by his beloved wife Mae, adored sister Eileen Fletcher, tiny great-grandson Charlie Reynolds, and fondly remembered son-in-law Carl MacKinnon.

At Eric’s request, following cremation there will be no service. A memorial reception will be held at a later date, where all in attendance will be asked to wear Saskatchewan Roughrider green. Donations of peanut butter to your local food bank would be appreciated. Condolences may be forwarded through

Your dad was so fortunate to have had such a devoted family. I know that your life happily revolved around your dad’s needs and care. You were not only an amazing daughter, but also a best friend. 8. Eric was devoted to Mae and his daughters. Family was everything. He was loved by everyone. He was kind, generous, caring and took the time to listen. Eric found grief extremely difficult but was compassionate. He took the time to smell the flowers. As his daughter Penny reflected he was a gentle giant among all mankind.
