Condolence Messages

  1. Karen and family. She was such a delight to be around and the years we spent as singles in the Calgary area I will never forget. It is hard to keep in touch as we retire and move futher away so had hardly kept up with her in the last several years. Joanne keeps in touch so I knew Lori was having the health problem. I will never forget her. My condolences to your family as I know you were the joy of her life. I’m sorry I won’t be able to be there in person.

  4. Dear Karen and all:
We’re so sorry to hear this sad news, because losing Lori is a big loss. Even though I had lost contact with her over the past several years, I still greatly admire and respect her.

Lori was smart and incredibly quick-witted. I remember when we travelled to Europe in the late 1980s, and the European men practically swarmed around her! (One man staying in our hotel insisted she visit his villa in Aix-en-Provence. Lori didn’t believe for one second he had a villa, but she humoured him – and then we spent the rest of our stay avoiding him by sneaking in and out of the hotel, like spies.)

She was also my Paris “tour guide” on that trip, and she was marvellous. She showed me all the sights, and I noticed how well she blended in with the Parisians. She didn’t appear to be a tourist at all.

People seemed to gravitate towards her, due to her natural charisma. She was open, friendly and non-judgmental, and I felt like I could tell her anything. I knew her at a time when I had a lot of growing up to do, and she helped me become a better, more thoughtful person.

Anyway, I could go on all day about Lori, but I won’t.

We won’t be able to attend her celebration, sadly, because we’ll be out of town. We hope you’re all doing well, though, considering the circumstances.

    Take good care.

  5. Lori was a loving and lovable, beautiful person. Her faith was a testimony to all who had the privilege of knowing her. I know she is now with the Lord she loves and is at perfect peace. Karen bless you for all the love and care you gave her especially when she was most in need. She will be dearly missed.

Lori will forever have a place in my heart. I am so thankful to have spent childhood times with her. One memory that pops up is when she painted the basement walls as a young girl and made her bedroom there. Another great memory is not so many years ago when I joined Lori and Karen for a pajama party at Karen’s place. We had so many laughs together that night. Rest in peace Lori. I will love you forever. Thank you Karen for your unending love and support for Lori.
