AMMON, Ewald

May 7, 2019 – Cochrane, Alberta

Ewald Ammon of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on May 7, 2019 at the age of 90 years.

With hopes of new opportunities, Ewald immigrated to Canada December 1951. He started his new life by working at the Burmis Lumber Camp in the Crownest. Eventually, he moved to Calgary, where he began his career at Canada Packers. Ewald married Lydia, the love of his life in 1953. They worked together to provide a secure and loving home for their family and friends. He retired in 1991 after thirty-nine years of service with the company.

Ewald is survived by son Harry, daughter Linda (Jim) Schweiger, and six grandchildren, Colin, Erin, Kerrie, Cody, Jacquie, and Bradley; and four great-grandchildren, Nyah, Mylie, Charlie, and Nina. Ewald was predeceased by his wife Lydia Ammon.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Graveside Service at Queens’s Park Cemetery on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at the Bethany Cochrane Care Centre for their care and kindness.
