HARDING, Alice (nee Holmes)

December 16, 1927 – Raymond, Alberta
March 22, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Alice Harding, beloved mother of LeeAnn, Mark, Kendall, and Richard, passed away on March 22, 2019 at the age of 91 years.

Mom was raised in Raymond on her dad’s farm and worked with him in the fields. She was very proud of this. In high school she played basketball and enjoyed singing in a trio with her sisters Kathleen and Marilyn. Mom attended the BYU where she met Leonard and the two of them had many wonderful years together. She had a zest for life and dabbled in many things. She loved acting, playing the piano, listening to music, gardening, debating, politics, singing, fishing, travel, and entertaining. She worked as an administrative assistant, teacher’s aide, and school secretary. She pushed her children to be educated and involved in music. Mom loved and adored her children and grandchildren and missed her dear Leonard upon his passing. Her last years were a struggle for her, but she was a feisty lady throughout.

Alice is survived by children and grandchildren, LeeAnn (John Muspratt); Troy (Krysta), Ryan, and Zack; Mark (Maureen Bush), Adriene, and Lia; Kendall (Patty), Logan, Chase, and Layne; Richard (Doreen Rempel), Kelly (Mladen), Michelle (David), and Jaden. Alice was the fourth of six daughters and is also survived by sisters Marilyn Kearl of Calgary, AB, and Jean Jackson of California, along with many nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard; parents, Myron and Melba Holmes; and sisters, Sylvia, Kathleen, and Joan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through
