AKESON, Rosemarie (nee O’Byrne)

July 11, 1931 – Aborfield, Saskatchewan
June 3, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Rosemarie Akeson, beloved wife of Edward for 60 years, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

Rosemarie was number 6 of the “Big 10” O’Byrnes. She was a mother to five, grandmother to eleven and great-grandmother to four.
She graduated from the St. Paul School of Nursing in Saskatoon and worked at the Rockyview Hospital, Unit 71, for many years.

Rosemarie accomplished much through her life. She loved to be an organizer, enticing others to be involved in her many ventures. Amongst her many accolades was a Caregiver of the Year and Mother of the Year. Rosemarie’s genuine warmth, caring and consummate sense of humour were just some of her utmost qualities. She will be most remembered for her devotion to her family, keeping everyone connected in some way.

A Celebration of Rosemarie’s Life will be held in the Hospitality Centre at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on June 21, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, https://www.notredame.ca/giving/give-online, one of Rosemarie’s alma maters.
