Zickert, Otto

Otto Zickert, of Sundre, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the age of 61 years.

Otto was born in Steinfeld II, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1960 with his family and eventually settled in Calgary. Mechanics was his passion and he worked for many years in the trucking industry. A hunter and fisherman, Otto loved the outdoors. His love of nature eventually took him to Sundre and the small “ranch” he had always wanted.

Otto is survived by his two daughters, Ursula of Massett, BC, and Coleen of Calgary; his sister Hilma and her family, also of Calgary. His love of family and friends, laughter and good times will be fondly remembered by all.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A Gathering will be held at the BPO Elks Lodge #338 Sundre on Thursday, March 11, 2004 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Trout Unlimited Canada, P.O. Box 6270, Stn. D, Calgary, AB T2P 2C8.

In living memory of Otto Zickert, a tree will be planted at Nose Creek Valley by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, CALGARY, TELEPHONE: (403) 276-2296.

  1. Daddy, I miss you so much. I think of you every day. It was hard when you left us because we weren’t there. It was hard when you left us because you were too young. Why did You have to go so soon? You were a wonderful father who gave us everything; especially your time. You cared so much for your daughters and that is why it’s so hard to accept even after you’ve been away awhile already because your love was special and my sister and I will never have that again. Thank you daddy. Kiss Oma for us. Ich liebe die Fader und sehen du gern. Kuss!Kuss!
