Philip Zein beloved husband of Faride Zein of Calgary, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the age of 77 years.
Philip was born in Ain Arab, Lebanon, there he married his loving wife Faride. In 1966, Philip immigrated to Canada. His family later joined him in Calgary in 1971.
Philip was known as Abou Michel, a nickname he was given in Lebanon. Philip will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he have eternal rest.
Philip is survived by his wife Faride, brother Nicholas El Zien, sister Amelia Boutros, sister Nouhad Saliba, son Michel El Zien and his wife Malake, daughter Kathy Saoud and her husband Tony, son Milad El Zien and his wife Janice, daughter Suzanne Lahoud and her husband Emile, son Gabby El Zien and his wife Jackie, son George, family friends Brenda and Lisa, as well a numerous grandchildren.
Philip was predeceased by his parents Mikhal and Rahija El Zien, sisters Wadiaa Semran, Marta Chedid, and Chafika El Osais, brothers Gerjeas El Zien and Chafic El Zien.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday , May 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road NE, Calgary) on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
