Andrew (Al) Zahn of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the age of 83 years.
Al joined the RCAF in 1949, training first as an aircraft technician before becoming a pilot. After his release from the RCAF, Al went on to becoming an Air Traffic Controller, retiring in Calgary after twenty-five years service. His loves were his family, building his own projects and “The Lake”.
Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Mary (Kaye); his children, Cathy (Rob), Pat (Ian), Clifford and Corinne; granddaughter Shauna (Steve); and great-granddaughters, Ashleigh and Mackenzie.
Al was predeceased by his parents Adam and Bertha Zahn; his siblings, Joe, Minnie, Karl, Emma, Kay and George.
A Private Family Service was held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
