YOUNG, Debra (Debbie) Lynn

July 5, 1957 – December 19, 2012

Debra (Debbie) Lynn Young beloved wife of Terry of Calgary, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the age of 55 years.

Debbie was born July 5, 1957 in Regina, SK. She completed her elementary education in Regina and was active in the Hillsdale Alliance Youth group until she moved with her parents and sisters to Calgary in 1969.

She assumed a leadership role in the youth group at First Alliance and was known for her desire and ability to include anyone on the periphery of belonging. This became a pattern that would last her whole life. Debbie served alongside her husband Terry at Southview Alliance in Calgary, Mission Creek Alliance in Kelowna and First Alliance, she also led and served in several areas of ministry including small groups, women’s ministries, music, and Camp Chamisall.

It seems fitting to those who know her best that she went to be with the Lord so near Christmas. Debbie was all about those things that make Christmas special; home and giving, family and friends, love and sharing.

Debbie’s greatest joys in life came from family relationships. She loved to be together with her extended family. She adored her husband, and her two sons, their Kristens and her four grandbabies.

Besides her loving husband Terry, Debbie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Kristen Elizabeth Young, Jonathan and Kristen Amanda Young; grandchildren, Brock, Kampbelle, Josiah and Abigail. She is also survived by her parents, Gerald and Glendyne Loewen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Randy Carter and Jocelyn and Jason Erhardt; nieces and nephew, Kendall Delamont, Kevann Carter, Victoria and Spencer Erhardt. Debbie will also be greatly missed by many other relatives and friends.

Debbie’s Life Celebration Service will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. For those who wish to view Debbie’s Service on-line, please go to the below link.
