Gerald Z.D. Yeung, beloved son/brother of the Yeung’s of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the age of 33 years.
Gerald was a passionate perfectionist who earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the U of C. With a zest for life, a twinkle in his eye and a prank often at hand, Gerald was known to his friends as someone they could rely on. Like most young men, he loved fast cars, attractive women and good friends.
At the beginning of a life full of promise and potential, Gerald sustained a traumatic brain injury in a motor vehicle accident. He was left with a bright mind trapped in a broken body. He endured and persevered in the face of extreme adversity. Along this journey, many people came and went, all of whom gave a piece of themselves to him or his family to sustain them on their passage. Even with such a marathon of endurance, one could still see the twinkle in his eye. His last six months were ones filled with laughter and a sense of serenity, as if he finally achieved some secret goal, unknown to the rest of us. He left us peacefully, knowing he was dearly loved and not alone.
