WOZNY, Joshua Anthony “Josh”

January 13, 1995 – Calgary, AB
August 28, 2013 – Calgary, AB

It is with immense sadness that the family of Josh Wozny announces his passing as a result of a tragic car accident at the age of 18 years. Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Josh came into this world six weeks early and has now left us far too early.

Josh will be sadly missed by his mother Deb Wozny, father Tony Wozny, brother Brock, grandparents Ernie and Marg Kitzul, Rudy Wozny and Colleen Moore, uncles Mike Kitzul and Derek Wozny.

Josh blessed us with his mischievous smile, his wonderful sense of humour, his intelligence and his big heart. Josh was an accomplished athlete and enjoyed playing hockey with the Calgary Royals. Known for his love of his friends and his dog Charlie, his fierce sense of competition and experiencing everything life had to offer, Josh was always game for the next adventure. Josh recently graduated from Western Canada High School and was proud to be accepted into the University of Victoria.

Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345- 40 St SE, Calgary) on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (Therapeutic Art Program), 2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB T3B 6A8 www.childrenshospital.ab.ca.

In living memory of Joshua Wozny, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

    Dear Wozny and Kitzul Family,
Please know that I share your profound sorrow for the loss of Josh.
Recently, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet Josh, for a short moment in time, when he was in Banff with his Grandfather.
In that juncture, Josh impressed upon me his gentle kindness, respect and enthusiasm for life.
Days later, I was still awestruck by this young mans ability to emanate such a pure heart, even through lives trials and tribulations. It was obvious to me that he has been, and will continue to be thoroughly loved. I know that your hearts will forever be broken. I pray that your memories of Josh will swathe your hearts in faith. Please know that the trail of hope that Josh left behind will be commemorated in the hearts of even his briefest of acquaintances’.
    Wishing you Gods Peace,

and no friends should have to bury their friend especially at this very young age.
