WOZNOW, Agnes “Ma Dusty”

January 29, 1936 – Winkler, Manitoba
September 2, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Agnes Woznow “Ma Dusty”, beloved wife of Dusty Woznow of Calgary, AB passed away suddenly in his arms, at noon, on September 2, at the age of 78 years.

Agnes enjoyed pulling calves and looking after them, while living on the ranch. She also enjoyed having the odd impromptu shindig until 3 or 4 a.m. Agnes enjoyed looking after people at Dusty’s Saloon where the regulars had to have a bowl of soup before they could have a beer. Being a bouncer was also one of her many talents. Agnes loved serving pancakes with the Calgary Grey Cup Committee in various hosting cities. She worked very hard on the Sunshine Fund, but most of all, Agnes (Nana) was very proud of her four granddaughters.

Besides her loving husband Dusty (Percy), Agnes is survived by her three sons; Gerry (Cori), Darrell (Sherry) and Wes (Tracey), four granddaughters; Jennifer, Samantha, Jade and Kristen, her brothers; Peter Heide and John (Jean) Heide as well her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Herman and Katherine Heide, four sisters, Kay, Margaret, Helen and Ann, a brother Herb, two brothers-in-law Herman and Jack and a sister-in-law Susanne.

No Formal Service will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.

In living memory of Agnes Woznow, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: 403-241-0044.

I am so sorry that Agnes has died. She was a strong center for your family. I especially remember her welcoming me into your family circle when I was at university. She was a good cook. My life has been made richer by knowing Agnes and the family she created with Percy. I am sorry I will not be able to make it for the Sunday gathering but hope to visit the next time I am near you.
