WONG (MAH), Shun-Chi

May 16, 1934 – Guang, Dong, China
June 15, 2013 – Calgary, AB

Shun-Chi Wong, beloved husband of Lai Wah Wong of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 83 years after visits from family at the Peter Lougheed Santuari Hospice.

Shun Chi spent his childhood in his birthplace, Guang Dung Province, Tai Sang district, Bai Sha village, China. Later he went to work, met his wife, and married in Canton. From there, he moved his family to Hong Kong. Shun Chi raised his family with his wife in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after emigrating in June 1969. This required great sacrifices but his desire was for his children to be well educated and successful in their own families. Shun Chi’s greatest joy came from his grandchildren whom he adored and loved. He will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly, along with a knowledge that families are eternal and together forever.

Shun Chi is survived by his loving wife, Lai Wai Wong; his children William David Sung Bui Mah (Mimi Siew Kiet Mah),Tanya Wai Man Sullivan(Douglas James Sullivan), Tina Joy Wai Yee Wiley (David John Wiley), Kenny Sung Hin Wong, Tammy Wai Lay (BoBo) Poon (Raymond Steven Poon); his 11 grandchildren – Hayley Jessica Lai San and Jillian Nicole Lai Quan Mah, Natasha Weng See, Michael Weng Hong, and Christina Weng Yun Sullivan, Katelyn Hazel Cee Mun, Marilla Joy Cee Wah, and Sarah Steed Cee Kay Wiley, Christopher Jun Wai, Steven Hong Wai, and Thomas Kun Wai Poon

Relatives and friends are invited to a Public Visitation at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 6-8:30 p.m.

 Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.   Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
