WOJTKIW, Maria

July 3, 1922 – July 14, 2012

Maria Wojtkiw passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the age of 90 years.

Born in Olesha, Ukraine, she was taken to Germany to work in the fields during WWII. In 1947, she married Ivan and then moved to England until they made their final move to Calgary in 1959. Maria loved the outdoors and spent most summer days working in her gardens. Maria had resided at the Bowview Manor since 2008.

Maria is survived by her sons, John (Elaine) and Brian (Barb), four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 1997.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (704 – 6th Street N.E.,) on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

Divine Liturgy will be held at Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (704 – 6th Street N.E.), on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone at Bowview Manor for the love and care they extended to Maria over the years.
