WILSON, Carol Jean (nee Weeks)

March 14, 1942 – Lloydminster, Saskatchewan
January 31, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta

Carol Wilson, beloved wife of Henry Wilson of Cochrane, passed away on January 31, 2015 at the age of 72 years.

Carol Jean is survived by her loving husband Henry, her four children, Blaine (Terri), Sharlene (Nicholas), Jan and Charles (Kerri), and by her pride and joy, her 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Madison, Skylar, Damian, Brock, Oliver and Tessa. She is also survived by her three brothers, Fred, Donald and Lorne Weeks.

Family was everything to Carol. She had an amazing ability to make everybody feel welcome. She loved working with children, whether it was as a music teacher, leading Sunday school classes or in the preschool. She had an incredible way to get the best out of people of all ages.

She was a selfless soul. She always gave her time to her family, her church, community organizations and anyone that needed help. She shared her creative side in sewing banners for the church, clothing for loved ones and crafts for the home.

Carol was always active. She loved walking, water aerobics and enjoying nature, most especially flowers and birds singing.

Carol’s zest for life never diminished even after her diagnosis. She was determined to carry on in whatever capacity she could. She was an inspiration to all that met her.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrews United Church (128 – 1st Street East, Cochrane, AB), on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Carol’s honour to the ALS Society of Alberta.

  8. Ron and Barb Lane :

    To The Wilson Family,
Our deepest sympathy to the passing of your loving wife and mother. We shared many times together at the church through Sunday school, Carol leading exercise groups and coffee times with Marg Chopiuk and Joan Ellis. Carol was truly a leader and inspiration to anyone who met her. In later years we watched our children grow and share stories through hockey and school. It’s sad to see such a great lady leave us, but she’ll be watching over her family.
    God Bless You All,
    Ron & Barb Lane
