WILM – Jutta (Wenger)

December 23, 1943 – April 11, 2010

Jutta beloved wife of Richard (Rick) of Calgary, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2010 at the age of 66 years.

Jutta met her future husband Rick, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed near the city of Baden-Baden, West Germany on February 6, 1964, and he immediately fell madly in love with her, and was completely devoted to her for the remainder of her life. They were subsequently stationed in Germany on two more occasions, as well as various locations in Canada and enjoyed numerous holidays together.

Jutta became a banker, a career which she took great pride in, enjoyed immensely, and was very successful, having won many awards and commendations. She spent twenty-five years with the CIBC in Calgary, most of this time as a Certified Financial Planner at Bankers Hall, and had a great relationship with her numerous clients. She considered them not only clients but good friends and deserving of her very best efforts and personal attention. Jutta enjoyed hosting numerous parties at her residence and was often the life of the party and enjoyed re-telling her favourite jokes.

Jutta is survived by her husband Rick, son Michael of Calgary, brother Norbert (Carola) LeCoq of Fort Louis, France, sister Iris Catton of Sandweir , Germany, brothers-in- law Larry (Laurie) Wilm of Arborfield, SK., Don (Kathy) Wilm of Kelowna, BC, sisters-in- law Donna (Bill) Hampton and Kim (Glenn) Engele both of Carrot River, SK. Jutta was predeceased by her mother Erna in September of 1982

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

    “Loved! then the way will not be drear;
    For One we know is ever near,
    Proving it to our hearts so clear
    That we are loved.

    “Loved when our sky is clouded o’er,
    And days of sorrow press us sore;
    Still we will trust Him evermore,
    For we are loved.

    “Time, that affects all things below,
    Can never change the love He’ll show;
    The heart of Christ with love will flow,
    And we are loved.”

    Dear Rick, so sorry for your loss. It has been a long time since I have seen either of you but with the loss of Jutta, it seems that there is a hole in my past. Our deepest sympathies. The following little quote says it better than I ever could.
    “Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
    Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
    Jutta certainly left a lot of good memories. You are in our prayers.

    The world will be a darker place without Jutta’s smile to light up our days. We will always remember her for her great sense of humour, her wonderful Christmas parties where she set fire to the coffee table every year but mostly for the kindness and generosity she extended to all of her friends and clients. She has been taken from us way too soon but she will never be forgotten.
