WILLIAMS, Bruce Maurice

April 21, 1924 – December 1, 2012

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bruce Williams at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen, son Mitch (Mary Ellen), daughters Julie Helm and Bena Worthington and sister-in-law Evelyn Williams. He is also survived by ten grandchildren Steve (Paula), Alan (Cynthia), Jennifer, Lori (Eric), Mike (Lisa), Dan (Heather), Julie (Scott), Jeremiah, Emily-Anne, Lynn (Tim) and eighteen great-grandchildren. Bruce will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Bena and Jack Hedley, brother Dave and sister-in-law Elsie, brothers Teddy and Bob and sons-in-law Ron Helm and Ray Worthington.

A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Parkinson’s Society of Southern Alberta, #102, 5636 Burbank Crescent S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 243-9901, www.parkinsons-society.org. Bruce’s family would like to send special thanks to the staff of the Park Place Unit at Chinook Care Centre for the loving care they provided to Bruce while he was there.

    Grandpa was a wonderful man that I loved very much. He was so often a source a laughter and joy for me growing up and I will never forget the special times we all spent together. Thank you so much for taking such great care for him when he needed you the most and loving him like no other could. He will forever live in my heart.

    When I think of Uncle Bruce I have so many wonderful memories. My favorite was as a young girl sitting on his knee calling each other “hammer head” and “beetle bomb”. The memory makes me smile. May your memories sustain you thru this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
