Gladys Willdig, beloved wife of Gordon Willdig of Airdrie, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the age of 86 years after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Gladys was born in Calgary on January 12, 1928 and graduated from the nursing program at Calgary General Hospital in 1950. After marrying Gordon in 1951, she moved to Keoma and became an active part of the community. She was involved in numerous clubs and activities while raising their four children on the farm. She was a dedicated farm wife and mother, always putting family first.
Gladys is survived by her husband Gordon of sixty-three years; her children, Brian (Ibi) of Calgary, Mark (Wendy) of Didsbury; Susan (Murray) of Edson and Ian (Jennifer) of Keoma; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Larry Newel (Helen) of Calgary; her sister Ethel Gilchrist of Ottawa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her brother Hal Newel and her sister Sheila Dixon.
