WILDMAN, Lyle Curis

November 26, 1948 – Morley, Alberta
April 15, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Lyle Cody Wildman Sûkthî (Yellow Horse), rode home to be with the Creator on April 15, 2017 at the age of 68 years. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family. As he was in life, he drifted away on their laughter.

Cody is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of thirty-three years, Anita and their children; Steve (Brandi), Kyla (Bobby), Lyle, Alanise (Joseph), Tyree (MJ), Teenan (Jasmin), Taylin and Kenzie; his other children, Tiona, Brennon, Lonnie (Rolanda), Monte (Cheryl) and Ace; his twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; special grandchildren, Tosh and Tierra; foster children, Travis, Chance, Khalisha, Jett, Shakira and Jaden; his adopted mother, Marjorie Twoyoungmen; siblings, Harry (Karen), Eileen, and Jackie (Carver); special nieces and nephews, Glenna, Lionel, Millie, Tammy, Oral, Clasca; adopted sister Nelda Big Stoney and adopted brother Martin Waskakwitch; special mention of Kevin Lefthand and Helmer Twoyoungmen and numerous relatives. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

Cody was predeceased by his sons Emmett and Cody Jr.; his parents, Violet and Percy; his brother Gerald; and sisters, Lorna and Francis.

Cody was a gifted rodeo man. It was his #1 passion. He loved hockey and powwow. He traveled everywhere and had friends everywhere. He was a humble man that enjoyed making people laugh; many carry nicknames he gave them. He was a twenty-one-year foster parent and raised several community children and was honoured to be part of their journey in life. We are grateful for the care of the doctors and nurses of unit 81 at the Foothill’s Hospital.

Wake Services will be held at Cody’s residence in Rabbit Lake on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at the Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 12 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB). In living memory of Lyle Wildman, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE. Telephone: 403-932-4740.
