WIK, Lance Richard

January 17, 1963 – Calgary, AB

February 15, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Lance Wik of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the age of 51 years at the Foothills Medical Center.

Prior to his struggle with illness Lance was an accomplished mechanic who could fix and repair anything.  While he enjoyed building, repairing, and fixing everything he could get his hands on his greatest accomplishment was always his three sons Tyson (Sarah), Christopher, and Kyle.  He loved more than ever watching their many hockey and ball games, swim meets, basketball and volleyball games along with the occasional fishing trip.  These three really were his pride and joy.

Lance is survived by his former wife and friend, Leanne Wik; his mother, Sonia Wik; and his two brothers, Brian (Barb) Wik and Brent (Deb) Wik; along with numerous other loving relatives and friends. Lance was predeceased by his father Roy in September 2013.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Condolence Messages

  1. Don J. Berg :

    To the WIK Family.
I worked with Lance at Calgary Transit. We became very close friends (the best).
I have been off work since July 31, 2013, due to medical reasons.
This gave Lance and I time to enjoy each other’s company every week, for a pizza, 7UP, a whole lot of talking about our families, the ups and downs, some VLTS and then we’d call it a day.
It seemed like every conversation was different. Of all the things we both liked to do, fishing was at the top.
I will dearly miss my Best Friend.

I, Don J. Berg, send to the Family of Lance my deepest condolences
and wish them all the best, considering the circumstances.
I will miss Lance big time.

    In Deepest Sympathy,

    Don J. Berg
