Leslie Wigemyr (Les), beloved husband of Gail Wigemyr of Cochrane Alberta, passed away on Friday December 23, 2011 at the age of 79 years.
Les was born October 4th, 1932 in Brooks, Alberta and was educated in Patricia, Alberta. He worked and at various ranches in Alberta before settling in Cochrane with his wife Gail. Les and Gail were married in 1959. Les was a Rancher and owned a fencing company and various other businesses. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Legion and enjoyed music, dancing and fishing.
Besides his loving wife Gail Wigemyr he is survived by his three sons Tim (Mary), Blaine (Sue), Todd (Cheryl) and one daughter Kim. Eight Grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Sister Sonja Spackman, his brothers Ivan (Marlene) Wigemyr and John (Doris)Wigemyr and their families.
Les was predeceased by his parents Chris and Amy Jessen and his dad Tom Wigemyr, his daughter Kim Marie, Grandson Ty and siblings Torleff Wigemyr and Marion Kirchman.
A Celebration of Leslie’s life was held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Thursday December 29th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. I am so sorry to hear the news about Les. I really enjoyed our visits over the years. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I was greatly saddened to hear of Les’ passing. I worked alongside Les at the Bethany Care Adult Day Support Program; he always brought so much cheer and laughter to our room. Les had many sayings I will treasure, and a smile that was truly contagious! My thoughts and prayers are with your family- Les will be missed by many, especially me.
Gail and family, so sorry to hear about Les’ passing, have many fond memories going through my thoughts at this time. A pleasant, humerous, and gentle man our community has lost. Best wishes for you all at this difficult time.
